Welcome to the Headstart Profile Enhancement Program for middle school students and students in the 9 th and 10 th grade! As parents, it is never too early for you to start thinking about either high school abroad or college abroad for your child.
Your middle schooler is an embodiment of robust energy and unlimited potential. One day,
he or she is passionate about airplanes and how they fly. The next day he is an avid tennis
enthusiast. Does this sound familiar?
The Headstart program from Alphabet Education is designed to assess your child’s both
passion and potential so that it can be channelled in the right direction at an early age. It takes
many years of preparation to gain an admit to a top tier university with a full ride 100%
scholarship and we are here to help. Several years of experience has taught us which buttons
to push so that your child qualifies for an admit to a university abroad with a scholarship.
Your child, as young as 11 years old, will be assigned a Headstart Coach who will meet with him or her twice a week. The focus will be on English verbal and written communication, mathematics, personality development, confidence building, time management, and other modules. The approach will always be gentle and non-invasive. The training and mentoring, which will be delivered on Zoom, will be aligned with the child’s school curriculum and will include homework help with an emphasis on mentorship. The mission, at the micro level, will remain focused on preparing your child for admission to a university abroad. Parents will receive regular assessment reports. Focus areas will include but will not be limited to:
Career counseling is a part of our service delivery platform. We will conduct a detailed career assessment and recommend career options from a list of 450 options from which your child can choose, since super specialization is indeed the order of the day.
Every child is different and hence the curriculum will be fully customized for your child. Career counselling for 11–14-year-olds will be gentle with serious counselling happening in the 10 th grade just before your child is asked to declare a stream in high school. It is perfectly natural for an 11 or 12-year-old not to know what he will become when grown up.
Your child will have someone to call or write and ask as many questions as he or she would like answered about studying abroad, or anything else for that matter, while preparing to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Our mentoring team, including our founder, bring over 100 years of cumulative study abroad experience to the table and this excludes our international mentoring teams. We assign same-gender coaches to protect your child.
Our service spectrum for 10 th and 11 th graders is extensive and the profile is built intuitively with gradual progression so that admissions committees do not feel that the profile is being built only for college admission:
We will help your child build an international quality resume so that your child can apply for internships in your home country in addition to remote internship opportunities in the US, Canada or Europe under our professional supervision prior to departure. If your child will be spending the summer vacation in a small city, an online remote internship will be arranged as a part of this package.
Your child will be encouraged to set up a blog on the Internet and send their blog posts to us for professional line editing and proofreading to achieve a high level of impact on the admissions committees. Several blog websites set up by our students are available for your review post enrolment.
There are special social media platforms for university aspirants and we will help your child to build a strong profile on one or more of these platforms.
There are many scholarships available to high school students and we will show you how to snag this data, assist your child to apply for these scholarships, and win them. We will even line edit the scholarship essays required as a part of our Headstart program. Examples include the Yale Summer Scholarship, the Stanford Summer Scholarship, the Brown University Summer Program, and many others. The program provides support for up to ten scholarships subject to eligibility. This excludes scholarships for undergraduate studies which are covered under the various application support programs we offer.
Your child will be briefed well in advance regarding which international standardized tests to take, which country to target, and when to take these tests. We will build a detailed planner for your child and make recommendations about the right test, test dates, books, online mentoring, and other resources critical to get a really high score on standardized tests. We will mail your child profile enhancement modules regularly and will help your child crack the required standardized tests and IELTS or TOEFL as applicable by sharing with your child information regarding the finest, international quality resources currently available. Our team of test trainers are nationally ranked and first rate. We will also recommend country specific standardized tests and how to prepare for them when applicable.
Every applicant to a top tier school needs a story and we will help your child craft this story. We will prepare your child for an exciting and rewarding higher education journey by providing guidance every step of the way to reach the finishing line through profile enhancement strategies that are tried and tested. Let us work together and build your child’s future. Call us for a free, no obligation Zoom interaction.
